Ming Baby

This is a little composition baby from the early 30's..His name is Ming and was a very popular little character with adults as well as children. This little guy was found in his original outfit, unfortunately was not maintained in an appropriate enviornment. His paint had all but completely lifted off, fortunately once the paint was completely removed his compo had not been comromised..          With restorations such as this, the expense is in the time that it takes to repair them. The hours of lifting the old paint, patching any holes or blemishes in the compo..Sanding, sanding, sanding...Then reapplying a new "skin" along with refinements...Unfornately, even if all original, the repairs are more costly than his value...I do try my best to keep my work affordable , but not at a loss...I know that doll restorationists have all been there...
